NUO finds its way into the premium interior trims of the new Renault Megane E-Tech Electric


For decades, the finest real wood veneers in the interiors of high-end automobiles have fascinated aficionados of exclusive driving culture. Adorning dashboards and door panels, these elegant finishes make for a striking appearance. Renault brings a breath of fresh air in terms of material design and environmental compatibility into the premium interior design of its new Megane E-Tech Electric: Renault is the first car manufacturer to feature the real wood surface from NUO as standard, which is as modern in appearance as it is sustainable with regard to the materials used.

Interior of the future – Material innovation NUO convinces in InBiO project. Huge touch displays and plastic switches: that's how cars are operated today. There are better suggestions for the future. An interdisciplinary team from the fields of chemistry, industrial design, computer science and textile technology at Reutlingen University has developed a new operating concept. It reduces the complexity of operation and is made of bio-based materials.

The interzum award is a competition in which the best products from the international supplier industry for furniture and interior design are selected by an international jury of experts. Participation in the design competition, which Koelnmesse is organizing for the twelfth time in 2023 in cooperation with Red Dot, is reserved exclusively for exhibitors at interzum.

INTERIOR OF THE FUTURE. NUO makes an impression in the InBiO project. Gigantic touch displays and plastic buttons are the tools drivers use now to operate their automobiles. Better ways are in the works for the future. An interdisciplinary team from the chemistry, industrial design, IT and textile technology departments at the Hochschule Reutlingen has developed a new operating concept. It reduces operational complexity and relies on bio-based materials. 
Once again this year, material manufacturers, developers and creatives were able to apply for the coveted material award. The jury selected the winners in seven categories. 3 awards were given per category. NUO wins the award in the process category.
Competition "bdia ausgesucht! 2020" awards innovative products. The companies from the bdia promotion association were invited to submit innovative products, which were evaluated by the bdia presidium in terms of design, application possibilities and usability. Out of 45 submissions, NUO wins the1st place.
